>> A1one

Iran

I change. I do not feel any need

to stop and lock in one style.

>>> Please introduce yourself ...

I am 27 years old from Iran, writing as A1one (Tanha) for 6 years now.

Before that I was designing magazine and book covers as well as

advertising and commercial graphics.

I simply got bored, then hated, then quit, then started my own country

inside my own country.

>>> Your style of work ...

I change. I do not feel any need to stop and lock in one style - yet I am experiencing an learning from each work.

Since 11 years I paint on canvas and the atmosphere of my work

changed every 1 to 3 years. I let myself get influenced by every one

but try not to limit myself or let my work to be like imitation of any one.

>>> Typography is ...

Mysterious.

>>> How do you feel about an ever-growing interest and commercial

exploitation of the street art phenomenon as new pop culture ?

It is great - some collectores buy art and some artists sell art.

But if this happened to change anything in artists life then he would be

the only person who will get hurt.

A great artist is who sells and is doing better all the time while not

repeating himself or loosing himself - which is really hard.

Art is not about money but people. Those who stick to real art

are real artists (no matter what the society or magazines call them).

>>> Do you see your art as universal, as globally understandable ?

I do not yet know if it is globaly understandable or seen that that way.

>>> Which aspect of your work is often overlooked ?

While some people care about the diversity, the colors and energy,
others contact me, not talking about my work but only about how they
wonder about me being Iranian.

>>> What comes next ?

Trying to reside in Europe in 2009/2010 for a couple of months

to meet online friends, collaborate, see and learn more.

>>> Any last remarks ?

Wish you the best and thanks for graffiti magazines that urbantactics

sent me the last month.
